Electric hobs and their advantages
First of all, electric hobs differ by their safety. Here there is no open flame, and there is no possibility to poison with household gas, in case of its leak.
The lack of an open fire offers another advantage: oxygen is not burnt, accordingly, there will be not that suffocating atmosphere which reigns in the kitchen during cooking on gas panels.

Electric heating surface, tend to be more smooth, do not have protruding elements, and therefore simply easier to take care and keep it clean.

But electric hob has also some drawbacks. Then note that the heating of the cooking surface itself also takes some time. Utensils for cooking should be of a flat bottom, and correspond to the size of the heating surface, otherwise it will be simply poorly heated.

How to choose electric hob

When choosing an electric hob, first of all, you have to choose the surface of this panel, it can be either cast-iron pancake or glass ceramic coating. Above all, plexiglas is more functional, it heats up faster, and such panels usually allow more to set accurately the temperature level by using a touchpad.

Some types of panels covered with Plexiglas use more advanced and safe heating elements: halogen or induction. More expensive panels have a lot of useful functions, such as indicators of residual heat and inclusion blocking.

How to care for electric hob

It is much easier to treat glass-ceramic surface than the panels with cast-iron pancake. Surface is perfectly flat, and, therefore, its washing is more pleasant and convenient. However, it is necessary to give special attention to cleaning of the glass surface. Firstly, it is hard granular substances, any grains, salt and sugar, if such solid particles will fall between the glass surfaces and utensils, the scratch is inevitable. Sugar is even more harmful, because it has a nasty feature of the melt, and cooling down it changes the structure of the surface, leaving a nasty white spots.

The glass-ceramics has also requirements to the dishes: copper and aluminum bottom contraindicated for such panels, in the course of time on the surface appears a thin layer of metal, which is extremely difficult to clean off. Such defects do not affect on the functionality, but still it is just unpleasant aesthetically.

For glass-ceramics deep scratches and cracks are rather destructive, they may be the result of a blow or overheating. If you notice such damage and malfunction of the control panel, you should immediately contact the experts. Using the damaged surface is dangerous!
